Why we play

One day on the course. Scholarships for our students.

The 7-9-W is Dream Big Project's biggest fundraising day of the year. You do not need a handicap to play it. You need three friends and a willingness to lose a ball or two for a good cause.

Every entry and every sponsorship supports Dream Big Project scholarships for students in our community, the same students who walk across the stage at the Scholarship Awards Celebration each summer.

The name

Why 7-9-W

7, 9 and W are the three clubs you are allowed to play, besides your putter: the 7 iron, the 9 iron and the wedge. This year, 7 or 9 hybrids are allowed on two contest holes, a fun strategic twist.

The format

What to expect

Scramble play, teams of four

Everyone hits their own ball and the team plays the best shot. Low pressure, quick pace, and a format that lets a beginner sit comfortably alongside a scratch golfer.

Contests all round

Closest to the pin, long drive, the marshmallow drive and a putting contest. Prizes on the line, and bragging rights that last until next year.

Lunch

Join us at the 10th hole tented area, where lunch is provided for every golfer. Please note that drinks are each golfer's own responsibility.

Awards

After your final round, join us for the awards presentation. We will hand out prizes for the best tournament scores and for each contest hole winner. Stick around for raffles and other prizes.
